| I'll think of a better description soon. All I can say is this guy's work is awesome =D |
| | Solfieri's style is a wonderful mix of intricate detail and clean, effective composition. I'm always drawn to her character's beautiful faces! Despite her obvious Hiroaki Samura influence, she manages to give her artwork her own distinct style which always leaves me a lasting impression :D |
| | Rarely have I met someone who's done so well in such a short span of time. What I appreciate about Kuma's work is the fact that she takes into consideration every element and aspect of design that she can think of. She is a reminder of how one can "never be content" with his/her own state of skill and strives to be even better with a burning passion! |
| | What can I say about this guy? His art is so original and unique, which is why he was my first pick to be nominated as senior. Wonderfully detailed and well-thought traditional pieces, of which I don't think digital media can ever top. I can tell he's a well-rounded artist too, being able to share his extensive knowledge with the community and also having an awesome sense of humor. |
| | Aside from the fact that she has a unique style of her own, modernism and classic stylish looks all blended together, its because she has the heart of a true artist!
Did I ever mention she draws the cutest chibis ever? |

A trip down memory lane |
Posted: Nov/19/2007, 10:11am Feeling: excited; Listening To: Catch My Disease; Reading: Oh! My Goddess; Watching: Claymore; Watching: Transformers (still)

Ah, as some of you might know, I just got back from my recent trip back home :D It was short but very much well worth it! I even got a chance to sift through some of my very ancient art stuff (around 10-11 years ago). Despite all the dirt and dust that was starting to give me allergies, it was very nostalgic looking at everything from notebooks, school projects, old sketchbooks, test papers (yeah i save some of those as well), pictures, toys, trash (lol) and some more trash (lol x 2). Anyways, I was able to actually bring back some of my old artworks that I wasn't able to show before.
My medium of choice back then was Pencil, Tech/Sign Pen, regular 8.5x11 paper or 1/4 Illustration board and water color (because it was cheap and easy to get a hold of). Just click on the links below to view them :)
Penciled, inked and colored in watercolored drawings from 1996:
Kim from the Fatal Fury Series (chibi)
Kim Kap Hwan
Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury (chibi)
lol at my spelling XD
Terry Bogard
Goku from DBZ
Goku SSJ3
These next ones are all done on a 1/4 illustration board, roughly around 11x17 inches. My process before involved Penciling first then Coloring before Inking. My reason was because I was using water color and if I Inked them first, the ink would be washed up, smudging everything and making it a total mess when I applied the water color. Inking them last gave me a more clean overall look. Oh, and I loved doing multi-character drawings before! Especially video game characters. I can't do those anymore :( I didn't have the luxury of the all-powerful Ctrl+Z back then so most often I redid things from scratch when I thought that they didn't look good at all. I wish I was still that patient. These were done in 1995.
Original Fantasy designed characters. I think there were 12 of them. This has got to be my favorite, the one im most proud of :)
Fantasy themed OCs
Samurai Showdown
Samurai Showdown
Samurai Showdown REWORKED
Samurai Showdown
An unfinished Fatal Fury cast
Unifinished FF
DBZ
DBZ
Warblade of Wildcats from Image Comics
Warblade
Looking at all these made me laugh and chuckle. It's pretty funny but at the same time inspiring to know how far you've come over the years :) I still plan on keeping these and also the ones I've done recently and probably look at them again when im an old old man.
