"It has been said, 'Mine honor is mine life. In that I live, and for that I will die.' But what is honor? Everyone has their own definitions, however all are substandard. All fall short of what honor truly is. Honor is the absolute, and unselfish adherance to all virtues: Truth, courage, duty, loyalty, forthrights... It encompasses all these, and yet it is greater. It is the fire that illuminates the differences between a savage, and a human being." |

Let us bow our heads, and say his name in reverence for his return...
"Zaha Torte"...
Seriously however, I look forward to rejoining this community. I'm glad to see that you all have kept up with your artwork, as always I stand impressed. I still have high hopes of learning new techniques whiles here, even if it is a bit belated after my absence.
The 'Old Tart' is back.
...And only 2 days after his triumphant return, thanks to your faithful votes, he is now level 4!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
And now, I have breached 300 style points. Oh happy day! LOL With any luck, someday I might actually hit Senior, but we'll see. I actually doubt it due to my inability to adapt to CG and my stubborn pride/attitude when it comes to my pencil and ink work without computer alteration.
But, we'll see.
Kind Eye For An Evil Heart

This is actually one of my favorite pictures I've ever done, so I'll immortalize it in my shoutboard. Even in spite of the mistakes and trouble I had with it, for some reason, it still stands as my favorite piece. |

| This man is a genious in his own right and deserves to be in a league in and of himself. This is a demonstration of the skill I could only aspire to achieve (whether the twit wants to admit it or not).
He is better than me. Hell... he is the best. |
| | Nya is just a poor boy and nobody loves him.
LOL j/k.
Seriously... This bastard's random sketches are on par with the art that takes me hours to complete.
You have no idea how humiliating that is. LOL!
This is the measure with which I compare all of my pencil works, and he beats me every time |
| | A new member of MR, she's by far not a n00b in the sense of her artwork.
Take a look for yourself... While she doesn't post pencil works which I'm overly biased on (my pencils pwn), her CG work, understanding of lights and shades, colors, proportion, anatomy, ect are remarkable.
One of these days the damnable woman will actually listen to me when I tell her that her work is professional grade.
Pfft... Women... :^P |
| | Another young boomer, her artwork at 15 years old surpasses my own. Not to boast, but that's not something easily done by even seasoned veterans of manga, and she does it flawlessly.
If you need someone to put you in your place in your artwork, it'll be her. Looking at her work not only inspires, but sobers you enough to how much you need to improve yourself to catch up. |
| | ...I actually stumbled across this portfolio on accident, and lo-and-behold...
This work is everything I could ever hope to achieve in my art. Of course, I can't compare, however.
Beautiful work, and flawless. See for yourself. |

Tutorials to come. |
Posted: Aug/18/2007, 7:19pm Feeling: Sober; Listening To: Fade To Black - Unknown Artist
|
Within the next week or so, I will be posting my first tutorials on both proportioning as well as general shading. Just giving a heads-up.
Granted, there are already tutorials on these two subjects available on MangaRevolution, however I simply thought I'd throw in my two cents on the matter (I'm always complimented on my shading, may as well do what I can to make sure everyone else here has the same knowledge I do conserning it).

I'll try to have one posted per week, both to be up by the first of September. |
