The basics are essential; Learn the structure and forms of the human face throgh life drawing and anatomy study and if tryig a full colour piece again you gotta use refs. In specific about that Piece I would say to you its a good picture, but it is not realism. She needs a skull, bone and muscle supporting her facenoses and lips are bigger, eyes are much smaller. The human face has avery well worked out and compace shape and you need to understand hat thouroghly before you can try to draw it from your own head.
